trick/circus riding at Stal Ballou in South Holland, and learned
to drive wagons and carriages in Friesland. As an adult I
learned sulky racing and stadium showjumpingin Long
Island, NY, and then studied in variousstates and countries
under the direction of professionals such as
the Parelli's, John Lyons, Clinton Anderson, Sue Sherry,
Katrina Tiensvold, Dr. Max Gahweyler, Christine Borchert of Etoile Dressage school, Germany, Jeremy Steinberg (now the US Olympic YR team coach) before he got famous and after.... Anna Twinny, Stephanie Holzer of Reitstall Holzer in Frohnleiten, Austria, Luke, the Dressage simulator & Barbro-Ask-upmark, Debbie Cinatto, Mary Wanless, Liz Petty of Excel Farms, and many others. I have shown and placed in Western Pleasure, halter, Dressage, English Flat, and Friesian keurings. I am certified for everything from equine first aid and safety to behavior and psychology. In 2004 I earned my “formal” degree in Equine Science Instruction for both horse and rider.
Along with traditional western education, I am also a student of Eastern methods including holistic horse & human care. I practice Equine massage, natural nutrition, herbal healthcare, animal communication, Reiki (Japanese for Universal Life Force), and reflexology. It is important to take in account the whole being and to create and maintain a balance between body and spirit for the horse and human to be it's best. We met at Scarborough Renaissance Faire on Heather's first day to such an event, with mutual friends John & Charlotte Dumford of Rosehill Friesians. We had so much in common we became good friends, and then began dating. At Heather's Best Friend's wedding in the late summer of 2012, Bryan proposed in the most romantic way, Heather said yes, and we married on December 29th, 2012, outdoors in nature,in TX, at The Lodge, with our beloved Friesian Horses Anke & Betsy, family, and close friends! Here are a few pics of our journey.
